A dealer's most valued asset is his/her staff and the same focus on customer satisfaction and retention should be applied to employee satisfaction and retention. Equitable compensation plans based on performance with clearly defined areas of responsibility in a comprehensive standardized employee handbook will eliminate confusion and confrontation that is best addresssed in the hiring process.
