Hey Folks,

I have 3 2012 models left on the lot still. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do for advertising/pricing on them? Even with the buyouts we have been given from Chrysler it is still hard to market them when so many of the new 2013 models have improvements and lower interest rates. Let me know your thoughts! I need to move these!

My team keeps a small list of people who identify themselves as among a certain demographic - the well to do customer who has no real need to purchase, but would like a nice toy. They are waiting for the proverbial insane deal. These are typically older, less digitally savvy customers, price buyers, cash customers. We phone bank the distressed SRT8 to customers like that, and we're prepared to take a loss if they buy.

Do you have any kind of equity tool that you use? Informed, actively engaged customers are not going to buy your old inventory, but customers who are 3 years into a 6 year loan might consider upgrading if you can lower their payments and upgrade their vehicle, especially if the alternative is to pay a recent, costly service bill.

One of the things I really like about Chrysler is that they really like to share their marketing efforts with dealers. Galley lists and hand-raisers aplenty. There is almost an infinite supply. Will you make 80 phone calls per day until those cars are sold?

Lastly, do you do any search engine marketing? It is not unheard of to run a small, focused campaign on overstocked, previous MY inventory.

Lastly lastly, and this has only worked for me once, you might try trolling enthusiast forums where it's permissible for dealers to post occasional, unusual offers that are presented respectfully and in good taste. This is another way to tap into that demographic I mentioned up top - middle aged car guys who like to get great deals.

pay a $1000 dollar flat and use in your newspaper or online for price leaders
