Does anyone have or know of anyone who has had success in separating salespeople in a dualed dealership? We have Ford and Toyota under one roof and salespeople selling both. If you've experienced success, how have you gone about doing this?

My first questions is what do the manufactures think about this arrangement. Most do not care for it. Secondly, if both manufactures are ok with it, You can, depending on your layout, split the dealer in half. If not. Then allow teams (one and one) or, crosstrain both. There really isn't that much more to do. or, label the salesperson (Hi I am FORD, I and TOYOTA)

What do the demographics in your area call for? You want to keep your staff happy, What about your used inventory? Who will be allowed to sell those?  If one brand has a greater appeal than the other, there will be some animosity. The is due to the lack of training mostly. If I can make a suggestion. Give them both equal training, the same road to the sale. Let them learn how to propect, Give them the proper tools and then there will be no excuses, only money making.
