I am looking for a published stat... we had a discussion in our daily training at Lichtsinns, and I haven't been able to find a publication with this statistic.  I know it happens a lot, but I need some data to make my statement valid. 

What percentage of customers come in and purchase something other than what they came in to see/purchase?
