Since I received no feed back on a prior post relating to this topic, I went ahead and scoured the internet for some word tracks and put together this script. I realize the goal is to memorize it word for word and then adapt with each conversation to make it natural. I just want input to see if there are any parts you would change. I will be using this script to call Craigslist and local newspaper listings to try and drum up business and get my name out there. Suggestions and help greatly appreciated.

Hi! I’m (NAME) and I’m calling about the X VEHICLE you have listed on X SOURCE. Have you sold it yet?

 

YES – Congrats! I’m guessing you’ve already gone out and gotten a new car then to replace the one you sold, yes?

 

          YES – Well congrats again! I guess I am too late! I’m a professional consultant with (DEALERSHIP NAME) and was hoping to earn your business, but that’s how it goes. So that I can send you a thank you card for your time and be sure not to bother you again, what is your mailing address and email address so that I can cross you off my list.

 

          NO – Oh! Well, are you looking to replace it with another vehicle or did you just need to get rid of an extra car?

 

                   Looking – Begin Fact Finding and build rapport, get contact info

                  

                   Not Looking – Fair Enough! However, if you do start looking in the future, I’m a professional consultant with (DEALERSHIP NAME) and would love to earn your business. So that I can send you a thank you card for your time today and be sure not to bother you again until you’re back in the market, what is your mailing address and email address so that I can cross you off my list.

 

 

 NO – I’m sorry! I know that can be frustrating. If you sell your vehicle, you’ll be replacing it with another, won’t  you?”

THIS IS A RECOMMENDED WORD TRACK FOR BUYING CARS/TRUCKS ON- LINE (via phone or email on facebook/craiglist etc…)

 

DAY 1

  • Tell me a little bit about the car?
  • Is it 1 owner?
  • Do you have your Service Record?
  • Has the car/truck ever been in an accident?
  • Can you send me some more interior pictures?
  • Do you have CarFax?
  • Can I get a picture of odometer and VIN #? I would like to do a CarFax.
  • Would you consider a trade?
  •  If I decide to buy the car/truck how quickly can I take delivery?
  • ( Always offer 20 to 25% less than asking price) If asking price is $10,000:  Say:  “I do not need financing and would like to buy this vehicle in the next day or so, my budget is $7,500, Would you consider this?”
  • Let me think about this overnight and I will call you back. What is the best time to call you?  

DAY 2 Call Back

  • We are very interested in your car/truck.
  • I’m working with Kelly Automotive Group and my Manager is eager to see it.  We have a buyer for it, but we would need the see the vehicle today or tomorrow.
  •  Is today or tomorrow better for you? Morning, Afternoon or Evening?
  • These times are available if morning 9:15 and 9:45, if afternoon 1:15 and 1:45 or evening 4:15and 4:45.
