Why would a dealer directly or indirectly, purchase leads from an aggregator who in their opening sales pitch to the consumer says:
“Remember that the salesperson’s job is to persuade you into making a hurried and misinformed decision.” (http://www.truedealercost.com/true-value-car-prices/)
The above claim is plain and simply a lie. We dealers spend a fortune on “Reputation Management” and at the same time we feed these scoundrels?
A dealer would not like it if she knew that downstream these tactics were being used to collect consumers in the buying funnel. That is the problem, she does not know. These leads are sold upstream over and over and by the time the dealer gets (writes the check for it) it has been wrapped in a pretty package and sold by a “reputable” 3rd party. Manufacturers buy leads that originate from the scum like this!
And finally, if we have learned nothing else over the last 10 weeks, we have learned that the states do not like the words “cost” and “invoice” tossed around carelessly. The FTC and state regulators would have a field day over this outfit I suspect,….. but like the dealer, they do not even know these guys exist.
Consider this post an open letter to the owner of truedealercost.com to defend and substantiate their claim, “Remember that the salesperson’s job is to persuade you into making a hurried and misinformed decision.” And do it on this forum please, step forward and identify yourself.

Who owns truedealercost.com and who are some of the 3rd party lead providers that "handle" their leads and sell them to OEMs and dealers?
I challenge the owner of truedealercost.com to come forward and defend your claim to the buying public of what a salesman's job is, explain it to the dealers that pay you:
“Remember that the salesperson’s job is to persuade you into making a hurried and misinformed decision.”
Let's see how long it takes for them to bounce the first participation on their FaceBook.
