Well since you been doing direct mail for 8 years your report should be ready by now, lets see it!
I have 3790 to spend on a direct mail piece how many cars will that sell me?

Kindly offer some benefits to customers !! i.e. Walk-in & Win, etc. to make sure that customer comes to showroom. Walk-in is important. Conversion can be taken care at showroom level. Also follow up with H/W/C customer simultaneously by phone, Regards, KR. Ganesan

Mailers do not work any more. They are out dated. Along with television, radio and newspaper. For less money than one set of mailers, you most likely can advertise intuitively on Facebook, Google, AOL, Myspace, Twitter and hundreds of Web sites like Food network, CNN, Msnbc and others. Push that same information out to thousands of directories so that your info is delivered directly to the hand helds in your selected market area and there you are. All these ideas are good and can be done. we need to look at profit ratio of the agency and bottom line operational exp. of the dealership. Check the marketing budget before action. Create customer database from every source. Every happy customer is a repeat customer and they will refer two more customers. Word of mouth spreads in the market and local town/city in the long run. We are talking from basic level.

I've been consulting auto dealers for over 7 yrs in their direct marketing. My company, Tri Auto, has a proprietary tool called Marketvision (www.triauto.com/marketvision) and with that we track every mail sale we do. I can show you real numbers from my sales to show you mail is very much still working! Using a tool like Marketvision to gather all the info about the customer like their phone number, email and what they are driving, you have every means to follow up with them after they hit your showroom...and you SHOULD FOLLOW UP! Sounds simple, but so many dealers don't do it. I'm also a firm believer in putting in multiple ways for the customer to respond...so add in landing pages, call tracking phone numbers, a text message option, etc. That way they are able to respond in a way they feel comfortable! The more you do that, the more leads a dealer will get from the event.

Thanks for your igreat additional ideas. As I am still selling 30-40 cars a month for my dealers from15k pieces, I have to believe mail is in fact still working. My best, Jenn
