In 2001 I worked for an Automotive Group that had a VERY extensive interview process. We bought in to the mentality that you can mold a salesperson but you can't make one from scratch so we had 5 managers who interviewed people with basically the same 50+ questions and then compared notes and somehow this was how we decided who would cut it and who wouldn't. I'm not saying it was right or wrong, it was just what we were taught to do.
Fast forward to 2013 and I hear a lot of folks talking about how hard it is to find talented sales people for their dealership so I'm curious:
What qualities do you look for when deciding who is going to be a top notch salesperson at your dealership?
