How much would a dealer pay for a buyer where the deal has been negotiated online and the buyer comes to the dealership ready for a quick test drive and then sign papers?
Funny that you ask that question! I was thinking the same exact thing. From what I have read stats say that 80% of customers shop on line before they ever walk into a car dealership. Direct auto sales is at a all time high gaining momentum but yet some dealers fail to recognize the importance of sales via the internet... they put their head in the sand hoping it will all go away. My idea is we embrace the internet shopper. Be upfront in our overall business practices- the day of hiding is over! Realize that an internet customer doesn't have to be a low gross deal. Lets begin to bridge the gap between the sales and finance so that we can maximize our potential both on the car lot and our virtual showroom! How much would I pay for a customer who is sold and ready to buy... priceless!
