I owned and operated these three new car dealerships simultaneously over the past twenty years. I was
the owner/General Manager at Red Bluff Ford, and directed the efforts of two additional General
Managers at San Rafael Ford and Redding Toyota respectively.
· Grew Red Bluff Ford from 18 employees selling an average of 22 cars per month to 80
team members retailing in excess of 175 new and pre-owned vehicles per month.
· Recruited, hired and trained 80 new employees, 50% of whom had tenures longer than
10 years with Red Bluff Ford.
· Increased gross sales from $8 million in 1989 to over $45 million in 2006.
· Exceeded planned objective at Red Bluff Ford by 100% year-over-year for 20
consecutive years.
· Purchased Red Bluff Ford through Ford Motor Company’s Dealer Development program.
I repaid the loan in just two years and four months, as opposed to the standard seven
year payout.
· Improved used car gross profit to a high point of $350k for a month, with an average
yearly used car gross profit from $1.3 – $1.8 million.
· Purchased all used car inventory at auctions. Averaged 150 vehicles in inventory with a
total value of $2.5 million and 75-80 retail sales per month.
· Expanded sales market for Red Bluff Ford from its’ primary area of only 13,500
residents, to reach a customer base 50-100 miles from the dealership.
· Created marketing campaigns on a weekly basis – Tent Events such as “Every Ford for
$29 – 99 Per Month”, and “, “Every Vehicle for $29 - $149 Per Month”, “Red Bluff Ford,
home of the Right Price”.
· Achieved record level success in Parts Department with $250k - $280k per month in
revenue and 38% gross profit. Concentrated sales strategies on shop, retail and used
vehicle parts sales.
· Increased Service Department gross profit to an average of $210 – 220k per month with
an average gross profit of 68%.
· Maintained Redding Toyota’s profitability three consecutive years - $400 - $500k per
year.
· Established all time highest month sales gross for San Rafael Ford - $750k on 250 ne and
used vehicles.
