I worked in the internet dept. at my dealership for about 6 months and have now transitioned to the sales floor. October was my first month and I only delivered 6 cars. I am wanting to move as quickly away from having to take ups as possible and be the guy selling 40 and 50 cars a month by appointment.
My dealership is signing over orphan clients and the CRM is tasking me to call on 1, 2, 3, and 4 year follow up calls. Is it too soon to ask for referrals from these calls?
I am calling, thanking them for their purchase and checking on how the vehicle is treating them. Then I introduce myself and let them know their original consultant is no longer here, but that I would like to be there contact person in case they need anything. I confirm there address is correct and then mail them a thank you card with my business card.
While I feel I'm being productive for the long term, I'm not getting any appointments or making any immediate progress. It is starting to wear on me, though I know this is only a temporary problem. Any suggestions on how I can roll these calls into getting a referral or two and start getting some appointments set?
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
