hello everyone, my name is matthew wurst.  i have just recently been awarded the position of sales consultant at kelly buick and gmc.  Before i become a full time employee at this fine establishment, i would love to educate myself of the benefits and consequently, the detrimental aspects of this career choice.  if any one would care to comment i would very much appreciate your input.  thank you very much for your time.

Matthew...

Good to hear from you!

Can you tell me what kind of training are you receiving?

Ron

Matthew, Congratulations. Now ask yourself, Is this a career or a job? This is very important to your success. Sales in my professional opinion, is a way of life. Everything you do will be based around sales. Training your mind is everything. You have to put enthusiasm and tremondous energy into yourself first. Your approach is a key component. Start with your day, How is my appearance? How is your attitude about yourself? Before I get to work, I have to be ready, organized with a focused plan of action. Action, makes it happen. Put out tremondous positive action, from good mourning, to fellow employees, to the best write-up, walkarounds you have ever seen. Practice, every chance you get. You will succeed, always believe in yourself. Learn, everyday. IF you are willing to learn, you will always be able to adjust, to any situation. Again, congratulations!

Matthew, you are on the "ground floor" of a business that's over 100 years old; that circumstance doesn't happen often! Committ yourself to the job, act like you'll be in it for the rest of your life. Don't do what so many do, and that's "try auto sales until something better comes along". And don't let anyone train you to act like the stereotypical car salesman.
