If we think of time as "currency", it represents something of a commodity it's highly valuable even though we have 24 hours in a day it is in limited in supply. As such, the expenditure of the currency that we call "attention" probably deserves more.
Sales training fails for three reasons and only three.
1) Not done often enough because it is not available when you need it.
2) Not measured so you don't know if it's working.
3) Not relevant because the information being taught is too old.
Products that help you stay focused on the task at hand will succeed in your attention economy. As free content becomes available and consultants succumb to multiple distractions, more and more sales consultants hunger for solutions that help them spend their attention wisely.
Mobile phones allow sales training to be useful at your convince 24/7 WHEN you want it WHEN you need it, computing enabled it to be affordable, and our culture accepted unprecedented collaboration. Each of these factors has been critical, and each is worth examining.
Mobile created a huge demand for reliable automotive sales training. Smartphones are changing our expectations of access. If mobile users can find nearby coffee shops, hail a car, or pinpoint the restaurant where they’re photographing their dinner, they should also be able to know the competitive dealer, right?
While spending your currency wisely, you should consider social media a valuable asset in the sales process, even if some doubt its effectiveness. It’s how you personally brand yourself online to convey your message using social media (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter.) for your benefit and the Automotive Sales Fraternity.™
You should direct people to your Facebook fan page, where you can show the dealership, service advisors, video walkarounds and photos highlighting the service department and certain vehicle features. Potential clients also can read reviews from past customers to get a better sense of who you are.
In addition to pitching cars on your fan page and connecting with like-minded individuals on our social network (e.g., Facebook, Facebook messenger, LinkedIn, Twitter.) you can also promote accessories, such as custom wheels and tires and other accessories. Selling accessories is a chance for you to enhance the vehicle to fit their personality and make profit.
We deliver the helpful tips and information your boss may not want you to know. You are no longer limited by the constraints of traditional, fixed formats. Your imagination is your only limit.
What do you think?
Now it's your turn. Is this something you can benefit from or do you have a few tricks up your sleeve that are just as powerful?
