I wanted to share a brief tip for anyone interested in dramatically increasing their following on Twitter. 

You'll want to identify some important folks in your respective industry and follow them.  Also, important newsmakers, celebrities, or media outlets should be added.  Throughout the day, I strongly encourage you to re-tweet a reasonable number of messages from these users - especially news or 'heat' items.  Individuals who make use of the 'search' functionality on Twitter will see your re-tweets and add you.

Presto!  You have a Twitter following!  Stay on this for about a month and you should see at least a couple of hundred followers come your way.
