One of the best comedies of the 90s for me was There's Something About Mary. Yes, it had its funny moments and was very original in its format, but the thing that made it special was the title character herself. The character of Mary played by Cameron Diaz had all of the things that made men adore her. That was the whole point of the movie.
I want the Mary Effect. I've been looking at vendors and trying to see what I like in them and what I don't like. Forming my own company at Dealer Authority has given me a clean slate through which I can build the company the way that dealers will like the most. With the upcoming announcement of a partnership between Dealer Authority and IM@CS, it is becoming even more important to understand exactly what gives a company the Mary Effect.
If you could tell your vendors that they need to do this, that, or the other in order to satisfy you, what would those things be? What's most important to you on the vendor relationship front? Is there anything that nobody is doing that you'd really want to see? Are there things that they're doing right that you wish all your vendors would do?
I really, really, really appreciate it and keep in mind that other vendors will be reading this. In other words, you're not just telling me. You're telling them what they need to do in order to be better.
Thanks!
