Why should his employees or Grant be ashamed? So asking for votes and motivating people that believe in you to vote is wrong? Please explain why that is...No one that votes on here is voting against their belief.

Asking for votes in any election or customer surveys to be sent in in a dealership if you are happy has long been a standard and required dynamic and I believe you know that.

I believe you missed the point, John. There is absolutely nothing wrong with asking for votes and motivating people that believe in you to vote. You are absolutely correct, that does happen all the time. Where that train went off the rails here is when Grant started offering product for votes. That smacks of vote-buying and bribery and I think that is wrong. Using your analogy of an election, that would be like me emailing all my friends and posting here and on Facebook that I would give everybody who voted for me for dog catcher or whatever $100. I think I would end up in jail.

This poll has gotten a little crazy but it sure has boosted dealerELITE's membership. Now the challenge is to use that increased brainpower that is here now to increase the site's value for everyone.

Alan-
I did not miss the point. We agree on many things here and obviously we will agree to disagree on several as well. Dont candidates running for local, state or national offices promise tax cuts, jobs, etc. if they are elected? Is that bribery? Is there really a big difference? I guess maybe if they vote and their guy does not get elected...then they dont receive the benefit of what they were told them their vote would get them...Anyway, I appreciate being able to voice fair and respected opinions on this site.
You are also very correct on the brainpower here as well...

Thank you, John, for the very nice reply. My response to your point on elections is that politicians promise abstract things - more jobs, lower taxes - things they will try to do. They don't offer specific, concrete items. That's when it begins to look like a bribe or vote buying. Imagine that same politican promising more jobs instead promising anybody who voted for him a new car. Can you see the difference?
