Holy Moly!!!! I agree so much.
Ha - Thank goodness!! I am not alone :-)
No you are not. I feel the same way. I think I am the only female sales person in my entire town. I consider this an advantage really. But at the same time, to find anyone to network with is difficult. I also face strange situations like attending a training in Portland (4.5 hour drive) and not wanting to ride alone with a male manager the whole way alone....little things like that that I have to consider...test drives with weird men. I solved this by attaching pepper spray to my lot keys and I carry my cell everywhere after a strange drive with a man who wanted to take me up a remote gravel road and get out of the car. I was scared but took control of the conversation and ordered him to take me back to the store and thankfully he complied and took me back to the dealership, otherwise I was considering jumping out of the car going about 30 miles per hour (seriously) ....just a few issues that I face that my male counterparts do not seem to understand or deal with. Otherwise i quite enjoy being the only female salesperson...it can be to my advantage...and when it is I deffinately use it! Other wise I just want to be treated like everyone else.
No, no, also the Automotive world is moving towads new challenges - even if very... slowly!
In the last 'TIME magazine' - November 28th - page 50, you will see an interesting article titled "the 50 most powerful women".
Grace L. Lieblein, President and managing director of GM do Brasil is one of them, as Fengying Wang President of Great Wall, and many others I mentioned in this article:

Very interesting article. I shared with some people in my dealership. The male management dismissed it but the gals in the BDC found it interesting...thank you. I gained alot of insight from it Maurizio....
