Of course one of the First things you should do is offer the customers a beverage. Beer may be a bad choice...just sayin.
Thanks Glenn! A beverage is a great idea! When I was in F&I, on hot days, I had a pitcher of ice cold lemonade with real lemon slices... Customers loved it!

Access to internet I'm sure is very important to people waiting on their cars in service!
Thanks Craig! You are so right...that is very important these days especially...when folks are waiting for their car to be serviced and they can work while they wait!

How about a Play Area for the kids...Full of Lego Blocks!!!!
A lego table is worth its weight in gold! We have one here at the dealership and I cannot believe how many deals were made while the kids played at the lego table for hours. It must be situated in the showroom in view of the parents! Great contribution Glenn!

How about a Flat Screen TV on the wall, in the same area that stays on the Cartoon Network?
Awesome idea Glenn... Or the movie CARS over and over again...LOL

You may offer water/soft drinks/coffee/tea as soon a customer is entered and make them more comfortable and relaxed. It shows your hospitality in our automotive business. Offer some chocolates, etc. to their kids. First you have to create more friendly atmosphere. We need to treat them as unique and something special to us. Regards, KR. Ganesan
Great answer Ramswamy! People need to get that edge off when they walk into a dealership...Most don't rank it as one of the most pleasurable experiences! Thanks for your comment! Come back again soon...coffee is always free here in Carbucks Coffeehouse eXpress!

There is a Welcome Mat, in front of your door to your home......We welcome guests into our homes....why wouldn't we extend to each and every client the very same courtesy and respect we show our friends? Whatever it takes...I'm not sure where I read this, perhaps Carl Sewell's Book "Customers For Life", at a restaurant and I think the guest asked for milk and they didn't have any so the waiter went to a local store and bought some to make sure the guest was taken care of rather than just say...sorry we are out of milk.
