To whom are you accountable for your life? Certainly, ultimately, to the Lord, but while in this world, who watches over you?
I would suggest that if you are married and your spouse is Christian, your spouse should be your first-line accountability partner. Give him or her permission to call you out on behaviors, attitudes, actions, disciplines and sins that compromise your walk with God.
Second, do you have a same-sex accountability partner to whom you meet with routinely, by phone or over coffee. Someone with whom you share how the Lord is blessing you, what He is teaching you, and where you need this individual to come along side and where necessary, encourage, rebuke, correct and teach.
Our faith walk is a multi-legged walk if we are to move from a "saved but stuck" attitude to a life of "saved and blessed and growing in my love for, passion in, and sanctification toward God" life! Corporate worship at church, weekly small group or bible study, regular fellowship (not just sharing common interests, but regular check-up with each other, is the process...or, shall I say, Best Practice!
Let the Kingdom of God shine through your face, words, attitude and compassion this day!

Great advice Jim. I feel very blessed that not only do I have this in my wife and kids, but as we run our company as a Christ led organization, we have several Christians here where by we hold each other accountable to always display a Christ Like and Loving attitude with all of our clients. In fact some of my folks came to me yesterday and informed me that they are praying each day for those of our customers that we know are in need as well as for all of us in the office.....that we always lead a Godly life as those we meet and speak to may only see Jesus through us. Have a Blessed Day! Gary
