"But, who do YOU say that I am?" Jesus asked his disciples...."Who do men say that I am and who do YOU say that I am?" Of course, we know Peter was the first of the disciples to answer and say, "Lord, you are the Christ, the Messiah!"
This makes me wonder...If Jesus walked the land today and had a Social Media presence, would there be any mistaken interpretation of who Jesus is? Could we look at Jesus' Facebook profile and read all his content, posts, statuses, videos, and images and have a clear and concise knowledge of who Jesus is? I am certain if we received a "friend request" from 'Jesus Christ' today, we would go to his profile "About Me" and read the description. What would it say? Would he list his relatives openly and be proud to say he was the son of God, son of Mary, stepson to Joseph? But most importantly, would His content, His photos, His comments on others' posts reflect everything He stands for...'Love the Lord, your God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind, and Love your neighbor as your love yourself'? No doubt in my mind.
Now, let's reflect on our own use of Social Media to reflect who WE are. How is our profile listed? Do we proudly state that we are a Christian? I believe everyone in this group would most likely answer yes to that. Now, let's look at the content of our pages...Do we use our SM platforms to evangelize and share the Good News? Do our posts, statuses, and images express a Christian attitude? And most importantly, does our engagement with others represent a loving, compassionate and genuine care and concern for our neighbors? What an awesome opportunity we have to reach out to others and resonate a Christian attitude to countless individuals all over the world!!!
We use many acronyms today on SM platforms...LOL, BRB, ROTFL, etc... but let's not forget about the most important one... WWJD???

Great points Nancy. I don't recall avoiding posting religion. Updated now. I think it would be cool to visit Jesus' Facebook Page complete with pictures, comments, updates, profile pics ect.
I am who I am...What you see, is what you get! Not always perfect...mostly not always perfect! I love God, Family, the Car Biz, my Friends....actually I am a lover of all people! I try to always consider....WWJD?
A most impressive share here, Nancy!
Truly a reminder that it is our duty to spread the word. I'm not into force feeding, i like to think of it as an attraction rather than a promotion.
I do my best to keep in mind, if I am to deny my God in this lifetime; who am I to be accepted after this short stint of an experience we call life ends?
Love this, and thank you!~
Way to go @Bobby. I believe you have made this the longest thread in this group! Christian obligations within automotive deserves the attention. DTG
Appreciate, as always, your passionate and spirit-filled feedback, Bobby and David! Pull vs. Push... Attraction vs. Promotion... You are truly blessed with His grace and the ability to inspire crowds of thousands!!!! God's gifts are now bestowed by accident!....#GodPurpose
Marsh, thanks for commenting... I think we are ALL guilty of not completely living our faith!
Nancy as usual you have great thoughts to share with us, so thank you for this discussion.
Faith is a powerful motivator and influence in our lives, but I follow the school that believes “actions speak louder than words.”
Talking about religion, faith, and Christianity is most certainly important but so is “walking the talk.” Speaking on Facebook about Christianity is a very personal choice for each individual to make for themselves. I like the saying I heard awhile back, “Going to church on a Sunday doesn’t make you a Christian any more than going to the garage makes you a car.”
Our actions should reflect the teachings of Jesus who wanted us to watch out for our neighbors, help out when you can, and show your family, spouse and children the love and respect they deserve.
We need to approach every customer in the dealership as if they were the Son of God and treat them with kindness, respect and most of all fairness. Those things have nothing to do with the overall profit of the transaction, but with how we make our customers feel when they leave our showrooms. We want them to feel they are loved and appreciated.
And Mark, I agree with everything you say here...and thank you for recognizing this as a discussion and not a blog. I wrote this piece with the hope to open up some very important dialogue. You hear all the time, "Do not talk about religion or politics on your SM platforms, you will upset 50% of your audience." But what if we resonate a Christian Attitude? Eliminate the negative drama style rants and criticisms, and with a loving mindset, reach out and help those who may be indirectly seeking some guidance?
I am happy that you applied the concept to every person we come in contact during the course of the day in our dealerships.. "How we make our customers feel..."...Isn't that the main factor of that exceptional customer experience we all talk about daily???
