First Miracle

The first and likely most memorable miracle of Our Lord was changing water into wine at the Wedding Feast At Cana with all His disciples present, when Jesus transformed one substance (water) into another substance (wine); and not just any wine, but the best of wines, actually perfect wine!

The Old reveals the New

To attempt to comprehend this miracle one must first reflect on the fact that everything Jesus did was in His fulfilling the Law of the Old Testament in the New Testament.  So, let’s journey back some 600 years before Christ, to Jeremiah 48: “All his life long Moab has lain undisturbed, like wine settled on its lees, not emptied from vessel to vessel; he has not gone into exile.  Therefore the taste of him is unaltered, and the flavor stays unchanged.”

Making Wine Perfect

Jeremiah is here describing the way the Jews made wine.  They would pour the grape wine into a vessel, allow it to settle, and when the lees (the dregs) began to form, then the wine would be poured into another vessel  After the dregs had settled there, it would be poured into still another, and still another, and another, until it was perfect wine.  God says here to Moab, the people that did not allow the Israelites to pass through their land,: “Moab has settled on its lees.”  Moab never went into exile.  There was no pouring out of a vessel, no change, no taking on a new challenge, and for that reason it lost its taste.  

We Cannot Afford to Lose Our Taste

This is the reason we should all attend this Christian Automotive Super Conference, March 13, 14, 2013 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, so that we will not settle on our lees and lose our taste.  We need to be challenged, to change, to be bettered.  The rest of our lives we’ll consider as dregs.  Now, with this conference, we’ll begin to be poured from vessel to vessel in order to be enriched with His grace.  

Is Another Miracle Awaiting?

Jesus told us “nothing is impossible with God.”  And, boy was that proven in a huge “bam” at Cana.  Forget about the months it takes pouring wine from one wine skin to the next until perfect wine is made, Jesus made water into perfect wine in an instant.  Jesus can form and make all of us into our best God-made selves when we attend a conference like this in His name where we can take a step back from who we are, where we are and what we are doing and let Jesus better form us and mold us into a better who we are, where we are and what we are doing one with all, with Him!  Make sense? 

Do Not Be Afraid

Jesus tells us still today: "Do Not Be Afraid."  When He sent out his disciples as He was forming them, He sent them two by two. Fear arises when we come and do it alone.  Bring others with you is what Christ would have you do.
