What is your faith like...is it a noun, a thing, or a verb, something in action to which others might point and remark there is something "different" about you.
This is not an academic exercise. There is nothing that Jesus preached or His apostles wrote about faith and following Christ that is not verb-oriented. Yes, faith itself is a noun, but as James says, faith without works is dead. Please do not read this to mean works = salvation. Scripture is very clear that salvation is by faith alone.
So, what do we mean by being a Verb Christian? Is it attending church or tithing or donating time and money to charity...or taking care of an elder relative? These are all good things we all should do, if presented with the opportunity. Church attendance by itself simply says the individual attends church -- it reveals nothing about their changed heart, their obedience to Christ's commands or their submission of their ego/themselves/stuff/TV/sport/business to God and to others (especially their spouse).

Thank you both Bobby and Jim! I am struggling with a couple of difficult relationships with believers who are in the wrong and need to be corrected gently--or maybe just prayed for--I am asking God what to do. I don't want to be judgmental and critical, and yet the scriptures say to rebuke your neighbor frankly (or you share in the wrong) and to speak the truth in love. It's the IN LOVE part that I am asking God for help and He is really faithful. He used both of you to confirm that He is going to help work through these situations. Appreciate your fellowship!
End Times?
Lots of news and opinions about the recent May 21 End Times Prophecy. Those of us who actually spend time studying Holy Scripture knew (know) the correct answer is found in Matthew 24:36. However, let us all realize -- let every man realize -- the end time for them, individually, might be their next breath. If you have someone in your life to whom you have not shared the scripture, keep this ticking clock in mind; be sure you are ready too.
On the topic of evangelism, have any of you seen the "Evangelism Linebacher" on YouTube? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvYFvhx1dcY It's hilarious, but still makes you think seriously about evanglism.
