What is your faith like...is it a noun, a thing, or a verb, something in action to which others might point and remark there is something "different" about you.
This is not an academic exercise. There is nothing that Jesus preached or His apostles wrote about faith and following Christ that is not verb-oriented. Yes, faith itself is a noun, but as James says, faith without works is dead. Please do not read this to mean works = salvation. Scripture is very clear that salvation is by faith alone.
So, what do we mean by being a Verb Christian? Is it attending church or tithing or donating time and money to charity...or taking care of an elder relative? These are all good things we all should do, if presented with the opportunity. Church attendance by itself simply says the individual attends church -- it reveals nothing about their changed heart, their obedience to Christ's commands or their submission of their ego/themselves/stuff/TV/sport/business to God and to others (especially their spouse).

Twitter and the Tongue
Recent incidents of Tweets that hurt individuals or groups or that were otherwised ill-advised should cause all of us using electronic communications to give careful pause before hit the send button. We are admonised by our Lord to be graceful in speech (Col. 4:6) that "it may administer grace unto the hearers (Eph 4:29). We often don't -- either online or face-to-face when we DO NOT control our tongue (including the tongue called thoughts). See James 3: 3-18..."but the tongue no man can tame...full of deadly poison." We all would do well to remember that grace often means not responding, not engaging, not confronting -- unless to do so brings glory to God and will build up the hearer. Be sure to worship our Lord this weekend!
Curious to know which group members are familiar with Os Hillman's TGIF - Today God is First.

If you aren't, then i HIGHLY recommend it. Os gives you a daily Bible verse and a personal story to how he relates to it. His ability to share such profound ideas is remarkable. I have been subscribed for years. It's free too.
If you already know TGIF then maybe you can share your thoughts on it here as well.
Enjoy!
Thanks Donna. I am certain prayers are being heard in Heaven as I write this
I just got back from vacation and received depressing news. My dear colleague, Laura Clark Geist, who writes for Automotive News and who co-authored "Praying Through Cancer," a wonderful devotional, is deteriorating. Her cancer has spread after trying a new drug that had some promise.
She is a wonderful Christian woman and I would ask you to pray for her and her family. Pray that she can participate in some new drug trials, for God's wisdom and for His healing. It is a difficult situation. Yes, we all have Heaven to look forward to but still I would ask that God prolong her life. She has a tremendous testimony and I recommend her book.
I'm a Matt Maher Christian Music fan, and this link isn't his music but his testimony of the Last Supper; very good! I pray you have a blessed Easter and I pray God blesses you enough that everyone recognizes Him in you!
Hi Everyone. Thought I would share the following message I received the other day from another group of Christian brothers and sisters in honor of the Easter holiday.
When Jesus died on the cross, He was giving "all He had" to pay the price for all the wrong things you've ever done. In your heart, for just a moment, would you walk up that hill the Bible calls Skull Hill and stand quietly at the foot of that cross where the Son of God is pouring out His life for you. Look at Him dying for you! You are not worthless! But you'll never know how valuable you are until you give yourself to the One who died to buy you back. Which you could do right now, right where you are. ~ Ron Hutchcraft
