The adage, Rome wasn't built in a day, applies to the opportunity a new trainer has undertaken. What you do for yourself now will pay off later. I am sure you have heard that from Craig. Don't reinvent the wheel. It is round and rolling down the road.
Rachel~
I love your insight~ And you are right...Craig has an opportunity to single-handedly start the process to change the industry...and he IS doing it~ I am honored to be affiliated with a man and a company who exercise such integrity!!!
Rachael Schulz Dunbar said:I love how no matter the discussion, Bobby answer is always RELAX :) I put that on a post it as a reminder whenever I get stressed and eventho its something we should all already know....it always reminds me of Bobby! I bet you are a great dad Bobby!
This is like a family tree, Craig. You are teaching your trainers everything you know and what life has taught you. They will in turn teach what they know to another. Each learner looks up to each trainer for advise that will help them suceed. Just like a parent prepares a child for the world...you are introducing them to a new world. A trainer need confidence, knowledge, and compassion.
I LOVE the part about follow up Nancy! Shes always got it. Thats what sets an outside trainer apart from floor training. Set yourself apart from a public speaker or book author. When you show that you truly care about the future success of your students, that you are not just there for a ego tripping pay check, then they build trust and continue to learn and use your advise. Otherwise, when the trainer leaves, the first time after that the salesperson fails a negative outlook of the trainer could ensue.
Craig, you alone have the opportunity to re-vamp and change our industry for the better! You show compassion for your trainees, they in turn show compassion for thier students, then the sales people turn and show compassion for thier clients. = repeat business, happiness, income. The trickle down theory of compassion! Somehow I have a feeling that Craig already practices this:) Hopefully your sucessfull trainers will move on in life and teach the same to everyone they meet.
Knowledge is not the only thing a trainer brings to the table that the dealer did not already have.
Lastly, while you are in Vegas, take it from someone who has worked at dealerships there and dealerships on the other side of the continent. ITS A DIFFERENT WORLD. Send them out as shoppers in vegas. The future comparisons will speak volumes! Vegas salespeople are taught the "transient rule". I worked at two dealerships there and consulted at another. They teach thier people to make what you can now because you will most likely never see that person again. Towbin is its own world in itself. Prepare them for the fact that every dealer is different and that its important to know your product before stepping in.
Commitment to being prepared to change lives by the dedication in this class. Role play, Role play, Role play,
