Happy Thanksgiving Day ! :-)
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Please say a prayer for the brave men and women of the US armed forces, for their safe and exipidous return to their family and friends.
To those men and woman. Thank you for making this world safer for us to enjoy the freedoms and liberties we enjoy.
I saw a bumper sticker on an old car the other day. It said, “I go where I’m towed.” What a sad commentary about that car, and perhaps its owner, too. Cars aren’t meant to be towed, they’re meant to be driven. Likewise, you were not meant to be simply pulled along down the stream of life, tossed this way and that by the popular current.
You are in the driver’s seat of your life. You get to choose which path you will take, how fast you’ll go, and how much energy you will use in pursuing your goals. Don’t be content to just move along with the flow of traffic. Take the steering wheel! Choose your destination and start heading in that direction.
Yes, you will deal with bumpy roads and detours along the way. Everyone does. But, if you keep your destination firmly in mind, you will successfully navigate the difficult sections and ultimately reach your destination.
Perhaps the greatest challenge you will ever face in life is the conquest of fear and the development of courage. Fear is, and always has been, the greatest enemy of mankind. When Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself,” he was saying that the emotion of fear, rather than the realty of what we fear, is what causes us anxiety, stress, and unhappiness. When you develop the habit of courage and unshakeable self-confidence, a whole new world of possibilities opens up for you. Just imagine-what would you dare to dream or be or do if you weren't afraid of anything in the whole world?
Develop the Habit of Courage
Fortunately, the habit of courage can be learned just as any other habit is learned, through repetition. We need to constantly face and overcome our fears to build up the kind of courage that will enable us to deal with the inevitable ups and downs of life unafraid. The starting point in overcoming fear and developing courage is to look at the factors that predispose us toward being afraid. The root source of most fear is childhood conditioning, usually associated with destructive criticism. This causes us to develop two major types of fear. These are the fear of failure, which causes us to think “I can't, I can't, I can't,” and the fear of rejection, which causes us to think “I have to, I have to, I have to.” Our fears can paralyze us, keeping us from taking constructive action in the direction of our dreams and goals.
The More You Know, the Less You Fear
Fear is also caused by ignorance. When we have limited information, our doubts dominate us. We become tense and insecure about the outcome of our actions. Ignorance causes us to fear change, to fear the unknown, and to avoid trying anything new or different. But the reverse is also true. The very act of gathering more and better information about a particular subject increases our courage and confidence in that area. You can see this in the parts of your life where you have no fear at all because you know what you are doing. You feel competent and completely capable of handling whatever happens.
Analyze Your Fears
Once you have identified the major factors that cause you to feel afraid, the next step is to objectively define and analyze your personal fears. At the top of a clean sheet of paper, write, “What am I afraid of?” Remember, all intelligent people are afraid of something. It is normal and natural to be concerned about your physical, emotional, and financial safety and that of the people you care about. A courageous person is not a person who is unafraid. As Mark Twain said, “Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear—not absence of fear.”
Action Exercise
Begin your list of fears by writing down everything, major and minor, that causes fear, stress, or anxiety. Think about the parts of your work or personal life where your fears might be holding you back or forcing you to stay in a job or relationship in which you are not happy. Once you have written down your fears, arrange them in order of importance, and then pick them apart one by one.
"Someone might have a germ of talent, but 90% of it is discipline and how you practice it, what you do with it. Instinct won't carry you through the entire journey. It's what you do in the moments between inspiration."
The customer demands the very highest quality for the very lowest price. This seems simple except that many companies try to violate this law on their way to the bankruptcy courts. The customer is very smart. The customer will always act to satisfy the greatest possible number of his or her needs in making any particular buying decision. Only companies that cater to the customer's relentless insistence on even higher levels of quality at even lower prices are successful in the marketplace.
Quality is What the Customer Says it is
Only the customer can define quality. Sometimes even the customer cannot define it clearly, but the customer will vote for quality by the way she spends her dollars. And more than 80 percent of buying decisions today are either made or strongly influenced by women.
Quality Includes Both the Product and Service
Quality also includes the way that it is sold, delivered, and maintained. The customer's definition of quality includes all of the activities associated with the purchase, ownership, and use of the item. Prices in a quality restaurant are not based only on the fact that good food is served on a plate. A first-class restaurant, one that commands above-average prices and can earn above-average profits, also services the food in an atmosphere of comfort and enjoyment that people are willing to pay more for. Can you imagine a waiter in a nice restaurant slapping the plate down on the table and just walking away? Even a simple product can be sold and served with a cheerfulness and courtesy, thereby increasing its perceived value.
Profitability in Direct Proportion to Quality Ranking
What this means is that if a research firm was to go into your marketplace and conduct an honest, objective survey amongst the customers for what you sell, it could develop a quality ranking for your company in terms of how it compares to your competitors. A major reason that companies that are seen as high-quality companies are more profitable is because of the deep need that customers have for security or safety in their purchase decision. Better quality is associated in the customers' minds with greater safety and predictability. The perception of better quality reduces the feeling of uncertainty or risk in making the buying decision. It makes it easier to buy.
Action Exercise
Determine your quality ranking in your industry. Use objective polling if you can. Use your intuition if you must. But be absolutely honest with yourself. Ask your staff and colleagues where they would rank your company on a scale from one to ten among your competitors, as well.

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes.
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary,
because it means you've made a difference.
It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings

When we constantly try to be like someone else, how can we be happy?
Be yourself and show the world you’re proud of the way you are!
You deserve to be your own best friend,
so start trying to figure out how you can do that.
If you had to spend the day with yourself,
which version of YOU would you spend it with?
Work on this best version.
Believe in this YOU and use that as your starting point.
Lovingly accept yourself as you are now.
Being different, Being YOU is absolutely beautiful!
We are all born with unique DNA, unique finger-prints and unique faces.
Why should our personality then be anything else?
Listen to your heart.
It’s your best guide and confidant.
Your heart is unique & one of a kind.
It will help you sense how to be the best you at all times, no matter what.
Just relax and let your heart do its job.
