I took over my fathers Ford dealership in the north east of England when he died in 1976. I built the company, Reg Vardy plv to 100 dealership with a range of specialist and volume franchises. We had a turnover of over £2 billion and in 2006 we had an approach from Pendragon PLC who eventually bought the company for £506 Million. My son, also named Peter has started a new Motor business, Peter Vardy Ltd in Scotland and I am his Chairman and mentor.
