To my delight we had the best family…

A Special Kind of Crazy

This is for those special wonderful crazy people with an idea who are about to throw caution to the wind and become an entrepreneur. For those who are about to abandon comfort and security for a 200 miles per hour roller coaster ride that has never been tested.

Social Media and Security: This Could Be Important!

These days, most companies have a social media presence. Some are healthy and vibrant, while others merely exist. Regardless of how well any particular company presents itself on these channels, social media has transcended beyond the term “social media” and could now also be said to be a:

  1. Marketing channel
  2. Content distribution channel
  3. Customer…

Brand Reputation is Key Critical for Car Dealers

Brand Awareness is Meeting Brand Reputation

Opinion Elites are growing in numbers.  Opinion Elites use online brand reputation websites before they make a purchase.    Researching your brand reputation is especially important to Opinion Elites if they have no prior knowledge of your business.   In other words, word of mouth…

Power Closing Phrases

Occasionally at our workshops, someone will bring up the subject of “power closing phrases”. The discussions that follow are very lively, quite humorous at times, loads of fun, and they include everyone sharing their own power phrases, their ideas about closing on the final objection, and experiences when using them.

What I thought I’d do is share with you what I…

The Difference Between Lease Incentives vs. Finance Incentives

Incentives on a lease and purchase often vary, and the vast majority of car shoppers do not realize this difference. Finance Incentives Options (2 of them) are usually: Option of cash rebate (example: $2k rebate); or low interest rate over a period of time. Lease Incentives Options (3 of them) are usually: Different cash rebate; different subsidized interest rate; or a subsidized residual value.

“The art of the deal is different between financing and leasing, and the makeup of…

Are You Being Responsible?

Let's get serious.

Stop being so irresponsible with your business! Sure, you can look up to experts for strategies, ideas, and marketing tools, but don't let them take the wheel. It's ultimately up to you to start the conversation with your customers from the content on your website to the content posted on social media.

Don't let your marketing strategy become all about selling your product. Make sure you're providing a solution to the…

Modern Communication: What Your Customers Want

Customer expectations are continuously evolving, and for businesses, it’s a matter of keeping up or getting passed by as shoppers look for opportunities that meet their needs in the most efficient and affordable ways.  Dealerships are seeing the changes that have been brought on by technology as they see less foot traffic in their dealerships, yet still sell vehicles to consumers who are more educated about what they’re buying.  Now, more than ever, it’s essential to meet shoppers’…

Is Express Service Truly Necessary?

It's easy to make a case for "no." Consumers connotate "express service" with an hour or less. Unfortunately, too many consumers experience a 2-3 hour express service, and the end result is customer defection.

There are dealers that are very efficient, and provide consumers with a true express service experience. Unfortunately, those dealers are the exception. Express service is essentially going the way of "complimentary car washes"; soon to be obsolete.

I believe that…

Selling To Women vs. Selling To Men

Selling to women has been a topic in dealership training for years. But this technique of differentiating women from men as decision makers, as unpopular as it may seem, is flawed. Gone are the days when a wife would make the introduction, choose her favorite vehicle, and the salesperson would then turn their focus on how to convince the…
