Get on it! in 2013

Now that 2013 is upon us it is time to get the lead out and start pushing early and often. Do not let your success or failures of 2012 determine how hard you are going to work this year. Time flies and it is easy to sit back and let the time slip away, but the real pro's in the business take care of their business NOW.  Don't wait for something to happen...DOMINATE

When all you have is a Hammer...Everything looks like a nail!

We teach,closing, if i could would you, build value, demo demo demo!, Well they are going to take what they are told and apply it in the least painful way for them. We need to make sure that they are well rounded and skilled at all of the steps in the sale not just certain sections. The rah rah meetings are not building skills.....and Skills make the dealership profit, Good CSI, and make life much easier for them and us!

Goals VS. Expectations

This time of the year was always interesting to me, I would get to sit back and watch the salesman cruise through December because they are all convinced that everyone is on vacation or they aren't buying cars becuase they are out Christmas shopping and that this was a month to just get what you can get and move on. The beatings will continue until morale improves!!! (re-post)

Correct me if i'm wrong! (Payment Close)

I have trained this for years to salespeople new in the business as well as veterans and it is a great tool to bypass objections and help when a Manager or fellow salesperson takes a tun on a customer. Now before we go to far, this also is a way to make sure your process is streamlined and you don't have a rogue salesperson on you hands...you know the guy the manager asks " did you ask them about money down?" oh yeah boss they said no money down" then you go in and say we need $3000.00 down…

Vince Lombardi was put in charge of turning around the Green Bay Packers, he started by leading, inspiring and motivating his players. The Pace of the Pack is set by the Speed of the Leader!

We have a responsibility to our people to set expectations not goals.

 

You set a goal and if they don't hit it then it's "oh well" maybe next month! or they come to you all proud and say ohhh i got so close, maybe this month!

When all you have is a Hammer everything looks like a nail!

     Being a GM for an automobile dealership has it's normal everyday responsiblities, One of which is my routine of sitting in on daily sales training. It amazes me ( i don't know why after 19 years) that i have salespeople who sit through training and act like we are wasting their time and that they could be doing something better. These are the same people who want to be treated like pro's, paid like pro's and they honestly feel that they have nothing more to learn!
