For the last 5 years, Google has been my most frequently visited website. It's been my homepage for as long as I can remember. Most times, without even thinking, I begin typing 'www.google.com' into my browser even if I'm not headed in that direction at all. In part, Google is an extension of my being.
I can be dramatic, at…

"I want you to get 200 people to like this new page." he said to me, and he walked away.
I gave it a few minutes and I followed him to his office and sat down at his desk.
"How?" I asked
"How, what?" he said.
"How do you want me to get these people to like the page?"
"Just get them to..."
I walked out of the office with no more information than I walked in with. I…

As each customer walks into a showroom, salesperson’s heads immediately go to the door. Their heads start spinning and kicking into “sales mode”. Maybe they have a pre-loaded script in their heads of what they say. Maybe they fly by the seat of their pants. The end goal is always the same; to sell the customer a car.
With all of the different ways to interact…

...you know how this one ends.
It can be lumped into the category of cliches that you're tired of hearing along with "If you don't love yourself, you can expect someone to love you." and "The grass is always greener on the other side."
Not only is the "If you can't sell yourself, then you can be expected to sell a product" a cliche, but it's also true on more than one level.
Of course, selling anything from a car to a premium iced coffee is…

(Appears on the Car Chat 24 blog. But I wrote it. Promise! :) )
I remember many a training class with one of the best automotive trainers I’ve ever encountered. While every one else moaned and groaned about going to a training class instead of being able to make calls (read: surf the internet), I was excited to learn new things.
Because of this love for training, I’ve picked up some incredible…

I've seen it happen all too many times.
While working for one of New Jersey's best sub-prime lending car dealer, I was in constant interaction with the salespeople. As I became more and more versed in the daily functions, I learned which salespeople I could go to for straight answers, and which ones would beat around the bush, forward me to voicemail, or give me an excuse of why they couldn't give me the report that I needed.
More often than not, it was the low…

Today, I joined a friend of mine for some shopping at Ikea, Lowes, and Target. I'm not a traditional female. That is, I don't know a lot about gardening, color combinations, or, I hate to admit, about cooking. I've made do with pasta, rice, and cereal for longer than I care to admit.
With experience, I've learned to navigate the twists and turns that is Ikea.…

What I love about all of us is that we're all from different areas of the automotive biz. We all have one other thing in common (other than the obvious connection to the automotive realm), and that's the desire to help and…

One thing I've learned in my twenty-some years on this earth is that everyone I can meet either "Can do something so incredibly well" or "Can't do THAT, it's too out of my realm."
"I can do that! It's incredibly easy!"
"I can't do that, I never learned how"
"I've done this a million times before.'
"I've never done anything like this."
My answer is always: "Prove it."
Not that I don't believe what people…

Each season, like clockwork, I hit this mental block.
I feel like I've reached my capacity and I have no new content to give, no no tips to provide, and no more help to offer.
Some call it seasonal depression, I call it a mental clutter. I think I'm an idea hoarder.
Throughout the year, I take tons of things in, recycle it, reword it, use it over and over again. This works for a while... but eventually, you need new material. I think of bands who…

When someone says something to you, do you listen? I don’t mean do the words pass through your hearing canal, but do you listen to them? Do you allow the words to enter your brain and form a clear vision of what is being said to you? If you haven’t put this much thought into this, then there is a very good chance you aren’t listening to the things…

Making the decision to have auto dealer chat on your website is considered by many successful dealers to be a great one. It enables you to interact with your website traffic and get a feel for what your customers are looking for. It isn’t enough to just have the software on your website, however. In order to generate high quality car sales leads, you have to know how to use auto dealer chat.
First and foremost you have got to have a website. This seems…

As 2011 quickly comes to a close, I've been taking stock of my year and making plans for 2012. Without going into personal details, 2011 was a difficult year for me both personally and professionally as I was left feeling underwhelmed in many-a-situations.
If you don't know me, CarChat24 is only one of the businesses that I do social media for. I also write for a blog related to Autism, and assist a Life Coach with her daily needs. Plus, I have a day job in which I…

Another end of the month has come and gone. Are you still preparing your numbers? Already turned them in? Have you had the conversation with your GM or Salespeople about how this month is going to be better than last month? I've had a ton of those talks with my superiors who expected me to do better than a bad month, or even better than a good…

Before the most recent explosion of internet marketing and technology advancements, car dealers would rely solely on referrals and word of mouth. Then, as the internet grew, online auto sales leads were born and changed the way business development worked. Many dealerships made the costly decision to create an internet department to handle these leads. Others paid their salespeople premium salary to work the leads when they weren't in the showroom selling cars.
Regardless of…

Imagine walking into a party that you were invited to and seeing 150 people standing around. They’re dressed in their best, and ready to have a good time and be conversational.
When you walked through the door, people looked over at you, but no one said anything. Surely you didn’t want people to make a huge deal over you entering…
