Unless you want to stay locked in a world of mediocre success for the rest of your career, you need to change the way that you approach auto sales. If you are only selling 10 to 12 cars per month, you are not as successful as you can be! Hopefully you already realize this and want to sell 15, 20, even 30 cars per month. But you simply cannot do this by continuing your existing sales process and hoping that something will change magically on its own. Albert Einstein stated the definition of insanity as“Doing the same things over and over and expecting different results,” and you may already feel a little crazy over your low car sales figures. 

While we certainly do not want to abandon the sales strategies that have proven to be successful in your career, it is important to ditch the processes that have not proven themselves to be winners. We can even strive to improve on those processes that work so they can work better and produce more! That is the nature of progress and certainly it has been the driving force of the automobile industry since Henry Ford decided to offer more than just one color in the Model T.

Whatever your position currently is in the automobile industry, there is always room for learning new things and improving your methods.  Dealerships that are struggling will often opt to change their appearance without changing their methods.  That is like putting a new suit on a dead man.  He may look better for the funeral, but he will still be dead. If you want to produce better and more profitable results, then you have to adopt new ideas and methods that are more in tune with the changes that are taking place in today’s car sales world.  Buyers today have changed the way they shop and purchase automobiles.  They shop online and many do their information gathering before ever visiting your Dealership.  They are educated in our auto sales process, therefore they know what to expect from us when they do finally come in looking to make a purchase.

If you want to earn their business you have to respect the modern car search process and find out how to make the adjustments that will make you unique and inspiring to current car buyers to give them what they want.  If you are not willing to do that, they will go elsewhere and you will find your business and your profits shrinking rather than growing.
