Craig - Beautifully written job description.

There is a lot of confusion (industry wide) about what a "BDC Manager" is. Is "manager" a department director or a minimum-wage tele-marketer ?  You got it right with ... "to head our Business Development Center", ""Recruit, hire, manage, and monitor the performance of all Internet sales employees" indicating a DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR. But "internet salesmen" are managed by the sales management team. BDC director would not (in my experience) have any control there. Although some is surely suggested as the lines blur when salesmen are doing more-and-more internet communications. Aren't all salesmen today "internet salesmen". Like "radial tires" become "tires" when they are ubiquitous.

There are a few additional elements I would consider as responsibilities -  DIGITAL MARKETING - LEAD GENERATION - RETENTION - CUSTOMER SATISFACTION  - SERVICE BDC  --- some consider these to be other dedicated departments such as "digital marketing"  --  maybe --- but it is all "organic" --- everything is connected  ---  and it takes everything to be done right to truly develop the business !

You probably do not remember that we actually discussed this nearly 10 years ago (when your sales training did not include "BDC")  I vividly recall it because we spoke just as I was leaving one Extended Stay Hotel to re-locate to another one for group fifty miles further-on down the road. You told me "unfortunately we do not need BDC trainers at this time but maybe someday". I mentioned that I had taken your sales training back in 2001 and still carried the books with me !  I can't believe it has been 16 years !

How far is Colliarville from Los Angeles ?!
