Well it is begining of the month and here in the car business or here where i love to play or what people may call work. That means it a fresh new selling month if you were a hero last month you would be a zero right now.

Since this is going to be my second full month in the car business i want to get it going this month, I dont want to be a average car salesman with 4 to 6 cars sold, I want to be in the top 20% of the business and sell 20 cars or more a month over and over again.

I know it going to take alot of work to get to that point so any advice on my journey would be much appreciated. i am here to learn the car business and to be a much better sales man.

So what are some goals a rookie sales person in the car business have.

Ervin, the very fact that you post this separates you from the averages out there :) Contrary to public opinion, selling is not a career of chance, luck, or being able to have the gift of gab--it's all numbers. Plan your month outlining your expectations just as you would prepare your monthly budget. For instance, if you want to sell 20 cars this month divide your goal by your closing ratio (25%) = 80 ups / 24 days (3days off) = 3.33 ups per day that you need to catch. Being this your 2nd month in the business, you will have to make up in numbers (UPs) what you lack in skill (not yet fully developed is all). The higher your closing ratio, the fewer ups you have to catch (i.e. 20 sales / 30% close = 67 ups/24 days 2.8 ups/day)

Each deal, each day, track your progress and make the necessary adjustments. Remember selling is professional, the effort you are willing to put forth is personal---never mix the two.

Good luck!
