Well Jim is a pioneer in the business; as was his father, and the great Jackie B. Cooper. I do not consider this resigning, but another great chapter in the story book of Mr. Jim Ziegler. As with all the greats in the business, there is another car deal out there for him to work, and another great story to be told. As with all the legends in the business he maybe gone for now, but will return another day soon, because as we have all learned throughout the years you might leave the car business, but the car business will never leave you. Congratulations Jim Ziegler on a wonderful run with Dealer Magazine. You will be missed. We do look forward to you resurfacing on the other side.

Jim is my favorite read in Dealer Magazine.  Love the way he writes and his courage and commitment to dealers.  Well be waiting to hear where he goes next!

Readers of Dealer Magazine will miss out Jim's articles. Pretty soon the Alpha Dawg will again entertain us with his "right to the point" (like it or not) articles. Just let us know where you resurface.

Each and every month, I look forward to the publication of Dealer Magazine to be released and with mad anxiety flip over to Jim's article.  I repeatedly think to myself... "He did it again..He outdid himself!"  His writing is pure brilliance, comprised in a conversational mode giving the reader the sense they are sitting in Jim and Debbie's living room, with Sadie jumping from the sofa while sipping Louis XIII Cognac from a fine shot glass!  Jim speaks truth.  Pure and simple...His research is current and crisp and without holding back any punches, good or bad, he tells it like it is!  Refreshing commentary in this industry for all involved in this fantastic industry of ours!!!! Dealer Magazine's loss will certainly allow another publication to prosper...Good Luck Alpha Dawg and wherever you CHOOSE to land, your Alpha Dawg tribe will be there for sure!

The Great thing about Ziegler is that he has "Common Sense" and knows how to apply it to the automotive industry. Whoever can snag this "big fish" will have a "Trophy" associated with their organization!!!

It really doesn't matter where Jim chooses to (and I hate to use the term) resurface. I'd rather think of him as landing somewhere. I can't even imagine him going underground. All that matters is that he does land somewhere, and soon. This industry needs the insightful commentary he has been providing for so many years. Dealer Magazine will find itself struggling without his content. My bet is that there will be a great competition for his services. Whoever wins will virtually be assured of an even more successful publication as readership will explode.

Best of luck to you Jim. I look forward to reading more from you soon.

It's sad that in the political machinations and polarization of our Industry, it's the Dealers that lose. Best of luck my friend, thank God for twitter.

Each month I always looked forward to reading the Dealer Advocate by Jim Ziegler. The "tell it like is" Alpha Dawg was always on the point, and has been the most popular read among the dealer body for years. Jim didn't have a problem speaking his mind, or what was on mind of most people, but were afraid to speak out. The energy, attitude and genuine passion Jim shared in his rantings and writings have been an inspiration to many. I appreciate all the sweat equity Dawg... I throughly enjoyed your ink. Your ramblings will most definitely be missed. As Mark states below, "we know you will find a new home where you can share your insights" soon. In the mean time... Kick back, grab a snifter and relax.

Jim has been a great source of inspiration and information, for me as well as thousands--but he really won me over when he got such a kick out of me putting Ralph in a ninja outfit. ;)
