Cars & Features That Fail Most Often for Drivers

According to Swapalease.com customer service reps, below are a variety of cars in different price ranges and the poor performing vehicle features/attributes that cause people to escape the lease contract.

Which Cars & Features Cause People To Get A Different Vehicle

Among all vehicles on the road, these are the vehicles and issues that are mentioned most often by drivers as a reason for wanting another car or truck:

  • BMW 4 series - seating hurts back (no lumbar)
  • Cadillac (most models) – issues with adaptive cruise
  • Nissan Leaf – not compatible to charge when not at home
  • Chevy Volt – less miles from battery than anticipated
  • Newer Chryslers (most models) – poor speaker (stereo) systems
  • BMW (x-drive models) – poor handling in snow
  • Ford Taurus SHO (driver assist parking not working properly)

"Mechanical items and features in cars and trucks can't be perfect in every vehicle, but we always like to make note of specific makes and models that display a pattern amongst our customers," said Scot Hall, Executive Vice President of Swapalease.com. "Carmakers have done a remarkable job in recent history elevating the technology, features and overall quality in today's vehicles. However, some factory features used across the board, when it prompts drivers to want out of their vehicle, unfortunately tarnishes the overall brand experience."

True - but we have come so far since "Kills you in a minor accident." !

I had a customer struggle-in on crutches to replace the A6 he had been in a horrific crash in. When he showed me the pictures I could not believe he survived. I called a friend of mine at Audi engineering to ask how such damage can be survivable and he told me "the research and development is enormous".
