I'd like to comment as a credit report and compliance vendor with access to complete credit data of every applicant that our customers obtain once a credit app is taken and one or more bureaus are accessed thru our application.

The unfortunate part is that this IS happening in an industry that has been hammered over and over again for deceptive advertising, mistreating customers, profiling, etc... over the last 15 plus years.  I am aware of a vendor or so that would fall into the scumbag category and all I can say is "dealer beware".  Read your contracts!  Make sure there is a data security clause that protects you and your customers.

CBC prides ourselves on protecting the data of our customers and their customers and would never and have never jeopardized that trust we've established over the last decade.  I have to wonder myself just how many vendors would do such a thing actually thinking they won't be caught.

Wow, I've been in this business going on 30 years. As the old saying goes, "there's a sucker born every minute" I guess that goes for dealers too.
