When I was a young man, I wanted to change the world.

I found it was difficult to change the world, so I tried to change my nation.

When I found I couldn't change the nation, I began to focus on my town.

I couldn't change the town and as an older man, I tried to change my family.

Now, as an old man, I realize the only thing I can change is myself.

Suddenly I realize that if long ago I had changed myself, I could have made an impact on my family.

My family and I could have made an impact on our town.

Their impact could have changed the nation and I could indeed have changed the world.”

Thanks Stephanie!

There are only 3 things you CAN control.

1. Your attitude

2. Your discipline

3. Your character choices (choosing right from wrong)

I wish I could have learned this lesson when I was a teenager.  It took a few more years for me to figure out that the only thing I can change is myself and the only way I can impact events outside of me is to focus on who I am being in this world.  Great share!

Thanks Tony!

It is one of those little pieces of motivational stuff that I have had in the archives for a long time.

Putting pictures with it gives it more impact!
