My father and I rarely ever had confrontations while i was growing up, maybe because he was always working. The day after I received my driver’s license my car broke down the transmission went out.  Keep in mind this was a very high mile Buick Regal that had more rust than paint. I told him that I was not going to keep the car for very long because I needed something more reliable to get me to and from school, football practice and back and forth from my job. His voice still rings out in my head as I am writing this, he said; Shawn why aren’t you ever just satisfied? Why is it that you always want more? Why can’t you just be content with what you have? My answer was I will never be satisfied, I will always want more and I will never be content with just getting by.

Just like my Father had a choice and I have a choice, you also have the choice to either stand still never putting a foot in front of the other.  You see I had a dream a vision to become something more, someone who could have the financial security to help others. You see I feel that most people are limited by their visions, never seeing beyond the lifestyle in which they were raised.  In order to move past the present and into the success that you strive to achieve you must exponentially enlarge your vision above and beyond what you thought was ever possible.  You have to make a choice to draw that line in the sand and say I’m tired of just getting by; I’m tired of spinning my wheels never moving ahead, settling for just being good enough and just getting by.  Don’t just endure your life enjoy the success that can come from your life.

Whether you are 18 or 80 you have the ability to learn, to grow, to succeed and to move past where you stand today. You must wake up each and every morning and say to yourself that you are great, that you are the best in your field and that you are a winner and you will achieve greatness. Whatever you do, do not get caught up in your sub-conscious mind were you say “I never will become anything more than what I am today.”  Do not pay any attention to your sub-conscious mind it will not allow you to move forward.  Make the choice to listen and follow your dreams and push your sub-conscious far out of your mind and go all in working toward your goals, your dreams and your happiness.

Whatever you do never stand still, never be scared to make a decision, never be afraid to fail or fall we all have, it’s what you do with the failure and how you learn from it that molds your future successes. No matter what failures you have had in the past, you can’t change the past. The future is yours yet to mold, you can choose to continue to mold your life in the same way as you always have or you can choose to create a one of a kind piece of art that will go down in history as one of the best ever. It’s within all of us to become one of the best ever.

Just recently I made the decision and committed myself to building and growing my company Dealerslice Incorporated. This decision was an easy one to make because I truly live what I teach. I am 100% a car guy and have no other interest other than creating success within each and every dealership that I form a bond with. Within my company Dealerslice Inc., I have to say the most rewarding part of what I do is training and seeing people succeed. There is nothing more important to me than building people up and coaching them to better themselves which in turn creates a more stable and firm foundation not only for them but for their families.
