I’m sure you have seen the slogan/ tag line I have used for my new company, Success 8760, on the website. The 8760 in my company name comes from the number of hours in a year. That is,  8760 = 24 x 365. For me, and hopefully for you, Dare to Be 24/365 means to do whatever is necessary, to dare to be a success every hour of every day.

Dr. Steve Maraboli is a Behavioral Scientist specializing in Motivational Psychology, Leadership Dynamics, and the Peak Performance Mindset. He is the author of several books including one called Life, the Truth and Being Free. In this book, he published a poem called Dare to Be. Although I had not seen it when I first designed Success 8760 and began using the phrase Dare To Be 24/365 and the hashtag #Dare2Be, his poem perfectly illustrates exactly what I was thinking.

Dare to Be

When a new day begins, dare to smile gratefully.

When there is darkness, dare to be the first to shine a light.

When there is injustice, dare to be the first to condemn it.

When something seems difficult, dare to do it anyway.

When life seems to beat you down, dare to fight back.

When there seems to be no hope, dare to find some.

When you’re feeling tired, dare to keep going.

When times are tough, dare to be tougher.

When love hurts you, dare to love again.

When someone is hurting, dare to help them heal.

When another is lost, dare to help them find the way.

When a friend falls, dare to be the first to extend a hand.

When you cross paths with another, dare to make them smile.

When you feel great, dare to help someone else feel great too.

When the day has ended, dare to feel as you’ve done your best.

This is my philosophy and, hopefully, yours. This is the basis on which all our training materials and programs are based. This philosophy was the foundation on which our Mission Statement was based.

I hope these blogs, the articles I write and post and the information I tweet provides value to you. I hope they inspire, educate, motivate or amuse those who read them. For me, they are a part of me daring to be the best I can be every day.
