I woke up to an e-mail from my awesome boss and president of the company that I work for. He asked me where I've been, if I was working somewhere else, and what was going on. Basically he was feeling (rightfully) ignored.

It made me take a step back and realize that yes, there were some technical errors on my end, yet the bottom line was that I offer him a service, and he's not getting it. I'm not doing what I'm saying I'm going to do.

I posted today on CarChat24's blog about this very thing. I put a business spin on the post, of course, but this hits so much more personal with me. It got me thinking, how many people, bosses, clients, employees, are not doing what they say they're going to do?

"I'll be in early tomorrow" becomes walking in 15 minutes late.

"I'm going to finish this report tonight" becomes cramming in your final edits seconds before the boss wants it.

"We'll give you half off a second purchase" becomes "if and only if you do A, B, and C.

Whatever happened to the good ole fashioned saying you're going to do something, then doing it? When did excuses and avoidance become the means to completing things, or even starting to begin with?

Thanks to that eye opening e-mail this morning, I took a hard look at where my attention is. Why hadn't I posted a blog for my client in over a month? Why hadn't I caught on sooner that there were technical errors occuring? Why was my dishwasher still not emptied?

It comes right now to honesty. Do what you say you're going to do, and if you're not, then don't say you're going to do it.

Simple. Sweet. To the Point.

This morning, I traveled across the city to my loft office to get massive amounts of work done. I'm doing what I said I was going to do.

What are you saying you're going to do? And are you doing it?
