“Our lives move in the direction of our strongest thoughts.” – Craig Groeschel, Senior Pastor of Life Church & Bestselling Author
We all have our own beliefs, some of which tend to be universal. Such as the above statement from Craig Groeschel, which, in my opinion, is simply too powerful to ignore. I believe it wholeheartedly, and our executive team has preached this in our organization since day one.
I firmly believe that it is this type of mindset that leaves some companies thriving, while many others fail, especially in our unique industry.
It’s not the technology. Plenty of companies had sound technology. But they were never able to break through and gain traction. Perhaps it’s the market timing? I doubt it, as this market always yearns for more choices.
So, is it money? I certainly doubt that. There are successful companies in this industry that have done so much with so little.
If that is the case, what makes those successful companies thrive and continue to be here?
BELIEF!
Companies that work hard to create value for their clients will succeed in ways that others cannot. You need to have such a strong belief in your product, service, and value, that nothing else matters – not salary or allusions of grandeur.
In any business, there is no guaranteed future. The future can only be realized through the combination of leadership and staff that genuinely believe in their product and service. If you cannot convince yourself that you can help your clients, how can you create a product or service that solves their problems, let alone sell it to them?
Operating as I lay out above, allows a business to move in the direction of its leader's most potent thoughts. And that’s why every organization should have an executive scorecard.
What is an executive scorecard? It is when the top leader in an organization asks its executives to join in his or her vision to inspire them. And, in return, inspire the leader with their creativity and drive. When the organization’s executives accept that vision and are all focused on the same goal, great things happen.
However, all of this comes at a price. That price is for you to inspire others. To be great at what you do, a leader in your own right and inspire others to follow in your footsteps.
That is my challenge for you with this series of blogs. More to come!
