For the past few weeks I've been reading several different books about the car business. There are several things that have been repeated in every single book. Getting back to the basics is the one thing that seems to be the one that sticks out the most. And why do you think that is? I will tell you why, because it works! I can't say it any simpler then that. To me, the meet and greet is the most important. Reason being, you never get a second chance for a first impression. I am guilty of this as I know many of you are. As a veteran of this business(9 years) we all get complacent at times, and we take things for granted. A knock out meet and greet can take a tire kicker and make them a buyer! This blog is intended for veterans as well as green peas, take head of this. Do an experiment. For the next week, or longer, try something new, there are several meet and greets to use. Use a genuine smile and be cheerful and happy to see your next customer. I will guarantee your success rate will rise. Another back to basics tip to remember, stick to the sales process. The process is there for a reason. When we are having a bad month(and we all do) we tend to skip steps and rush thru a deal. Then we wonder why we couldn't close that last car deal. The reason is simple, we didn't follow the process. Be honest with yourself, did you follow the steps? 9 times out of 10, you didn't. These are just 2 of the things that I keep reading in every single book. I've never been a big book reader, but my eyes are now opening. Give these 2 things a try, or don't try them, the choice is yours. Simply put, do these 2 things very good, and you will succeed more then not. Happy selling, and stay focused and positive!
