Have you ever wondered where Google gets some of the photos that is uses to display on Google+ Local?
When business listings were managed under "Google Places," it was very common for a dealer to call me in a panic because unprofessional photos were showing on their places page.
I recently received some clarification on this matter, and the solution requires another process that dealers should put into place.
Dealers will now need to update their Google+ Local directory listing on a regular basis.
Here is what I recommend:
You may have thought that Google+ Local was a "set it and forget it" advertising tool, but that is not the case. For many dealers, they are looking at their Google+ Local listing on a regular basis anyway to review the comments and reviews that were posted.
So now, when your team is reviewing the listing, consider:
By keeping your Google+ Local up to date, your are signaling to Google+ that the content is accurate and fresh. That is a good investment.
