Truecar , Truecar , Truecar ...... blah blah blah .... it has been shoved down our throats now for the better part of the last month and I for one am tired of the crying , belly aching , and worrying about the collapse of an old school dealership world that believe it or not collapsed years ago and is currently in the stages of rebuilding . States are questioning ethics and tatics used , dealers that pay a nice chunk of state taxes (coincidence?) are complaining about DMS data and $299-$399 bird dog fees , and those who really have no idea about what is going on are formulating opinions without merit . Really , it is enough to make you want to pull your hair out or at least the hair of your local Zag rep for not giving the proper heads up . But hey .... there is a SIMPLE FIX ... one that no one has mentioned and is as easy as a state passing a law . Maybe it is because I am selling in Texas that all of this seems funny to me and pretty easy to overcome but that is because where I live we are charged a flat price per territory not per sale as other states are .... and because of such ( even though they probably do ) there is no need for the DMS intergration with Truecar as that was put in place because of a prior failed "Honor System" for reporting sales ....... which has now turned into reporting sales and sale price and is the entire catalyst ! Without the bird dog fees and the uber transparent selling prices is there even any longer an issue ? My guess probably not so instead of writing lengthy blogs , facebook posts , tweets and comments ..... WRITE YOUR LOCAL CONGRESSMAN / WOMAN ....... SELL SOME CARS AND GET ON WITH YOUR LIVES !
