A young man who decided not to take my training class and picked up a job at a dealership sent this note to me:
"Hello there Dan, Today my first day of work I got feed to the wolves! LOL they told me to to grab keys and go out and find out about the product and so I did and it took me a few hours to mess around with all of the vehicles and when I was done with that I went to lunch and when I came back, I was put out with the other salesman. Wow I thought I was gonna recieve training of some sort? Or at least on how to approach a customer and how to start a car deal on the right foot..... I had 3 ups and some of their questioned stomped me and ended up turning them to another carsalesman that knew what he was doing? So I kinda got feed to wolves today and hopefully I get something different. Do you have advice for my situation? I feel like I made a bad choice on jobs?"
How often is this happening? Are you experiencing similar results in the field?
In this day an age, why are dealers using the same tactics for training that I received in 1981?
