Enough is Enough!
Haven't you had it with all of these Data Pirates using our own customer information to defame us, lower our profits, alienate our customers... while at the same time they charge us through the nose to do us harm?
Among the worst of them in my opinion is CarFax. They even believe they have the right to price our cars and trades.... too low of course. While at the same time CarFax exploits negative stereotypes that we are crooks in every commercial the Little Car Fox Rats out the dishonest bumbling and inept idiot car sales person. They charge us to defame us.

We have manufacturers supporting these people and requiring we do business with them. Let's get mobilized and scream at our factory representatives, reprint this article for your dealers, do press releases, and generally alert your State Dealer Associations and 20-groups.
If a consumer asks for the CarFax, tell them it's $39.00. Whoever told you it was free was lying.

As discussed in the other forum, it's not that we can't get the customer to accept a different VHR... it's that CarFax uses dealer money to buy exclusivity so that people online can only see their product on AT, Cars & others. Their resulting sales pitch is that people searching online will never know you offer a VHR unless it's a CarFax.

Finally we are talking about this issues. We kicked Carfax out of our dealers 3 yrs ago. Since then we are using Autocheck and our sales went up. We find out that having carfax on Autotrader (another evil) or cars.com the contact ratio goes down a lot. Anyway, I glad we are talking about this and lets make it A BIG DEAL!!! because it is.

Excellent call to action. I am embarrassed to admit that you woke me up. I was so accustomed to including Carfax data as part of my customer focused lead process that I never really noticed they were tarnishing my image, too. I always saw that as the "other guy." You must give them credit for an excellent marketing plan, but a roaring voice from us to stop the stereotyping is surely in order. Having secured the market they are now following it up with obscene price increases, too. Lead your 300 to Thermopylae, James!
