Michel de Montaigne... "We are masters of nothing but our will." 

This quote is so true! We are powerless to control the winds of life... circumstances, situations, other people and their attitudes; natural disasters, accidents and the unforeseen events that overtake us. Preparation can equip us and spiritual development can strengthen us for the unexpected, but only our inner-man can truly be under our control.

While this limited area of control may seem isolated and somewhat puny when compared to the potential for disaster... It is also the greatest of all comforts.  To keep perspective remember... Psalm 2:1-2, 4... "Why do the nations rage, The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the Lord and against His Anointed,  ...while He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision."

Remember, God is not sitting in Heaven, wringing His hands wondering how to cope with Earth's difficulties. He is in complete control... 1 Corinthians 10:26  "the earth is the Lords,  and  fullness thereof." Let us therefore, focus on maintaining both Heavenly direction and Earthly discipline by mastering our own will. Dedicating our life to God's purpose and fulfilling our destiny through faith! As an old friend of mine used to say... "just keep on, keepin' on."
