I do a large amount of my work from home. Whenever I talk to someone about my different jobs, they often like to voice how jealous they are and how much they wish that they could also work from home because they'd love to work in their pajamas.

...yeah, no.

I know the majority of you work at a dealership, in your office, but what if your office is at home? At least part time. It takes a special person to be able to work from home, just as it takes a special person to sit behind a desk all day.

I've spent the last 3 years working horizontally laying on my bed with my laptop in front of me. Within about 2 hours, I'm ready to go to sleep and I often do for hours because of how comfortable I am.

To say that my work quality deteriorated is an understatement.

It came to me this past weekend that I really don't love where I work. Working from home isn't my number one choice, but with clients all over the country and a budget each month that incorporates pancakes, I just can't afford to travel all over every single week.

But what I can afford is to make an area where I love to work.

This isn't limited to just at-home workers. This goes for your desk at work too. Different companies have different regulations on what can be displayed on your desk, and I understand that. But even if you just make the desk calendar that you often work on inspirational, then you're one step ahead.

Use quotes, photos, magazine articles, whatever makes you feel motivated. Look forward to going back to your desk to do paperwork. It's not the most joyous thing in the world, but if you're loving where you're doing the work, then it's much better than hating the work AND where you're doing it.

For me, it's a comfy chair (on order) and a corkboard filled with inspirational quotes like this one:

Or this one:

...and suddenly, I look forward to going down to my little basement office, putting my nose to the grindstone, and writing to you, my dear friends.

What do YOU find inspirational? Bonus: Share a photo of your workspace. I'd love to see it!

I sure did - For a couple of years first starting my automotive parts business. My situation was real challenging, as I live on a lake and would look out my home office window and viewed the beauty of the water and my boats, just sitting there.
Just need to think, success or fun/failure! I was loyal to my business and customers. It was hard at times, I must agree!

Thanks, Randolph. It takes a lot more self-control than I have. Admittedly! Do you do any work from home?

Katie you're spot on! Working from home is hard to do and takes tons of determination.
