Alan Alda ... "Begin challenging your own assumptions. Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in awhile, or the light won't come in."
As we scrub off the window to our soul, it is likely we will discover that we should adopt, adapt and adjust our presumptions. The greatness of serving God is that each day His creative force brings new light to our heart. Each day we have opportunity to come a little closer to His ultimate goal. We are to appreciate the past and grow with each experience. If we look back more than we look forward we are living in the assumption that we have already experienced God's best. This is a mistake... Ecclesiastes 7:8 declares boldly... "The end of a thing is better than its beginning;". And Proverbs 14:12 reminds us that our way is not always the best way.... "There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death."
Let's dust off the window of our old thinking and agree to assume that we don't have all the answers... and that God is willing to reveal His glory to us, little by little! Keep on growing, have a great day and enjoy the journey!
