The “Car Biz” an industry that made you reinvent yourself a little bit and step outside your comfort zone
So I ask you… Why step back in?
I don’t know about you but I didn’t want to grow up wanting to be a car salesman…
But here I am and it’s been a good ride so far…
Growing up if you would have asked me what I wanted to be it would have depended on what stage of my life I was going through at the time trying to find myself…
One minute solving crimes in detective shows like Columbo or the next outsmarting your opponent in courtroom battles like Matlock…
After watching a Bruce Willis movie once I thought it would be fascinating to encounter many different personality types and help others with their problems by becoming a psychologist…
Of course who didn’t want to be an athlete of some sort… hitting game winning homer or running in the winning touchdown…?
Becoming a teenager in the 80’s of course I wanted to be a Rock Star! Teased Hair & spandex! Glitz & Glamour! I was a hair metal wannabe! It was my dream to be the front man belting out gut busting vocals….. And thrashing guitar solos!
The only problem… I only sound good in the shower & not coordinated enough to play guitar…
Who didn’t want to be famous in some sense…? Whether it was political or inventing something or bestselling author or an Oscar winning actor.

After graduating high school with no clear cut path to follow I served my country after a few years and college credits later still didn’t have it figured out…
But meanwhile to support myself I always had a sales job whether it was clothing in the mall or tanning packages at a salon or vacuums door to door, or electronics or furniture… I always exceled! It was the only thing I was good at…
It all revolved around the same basic principle… know your product, be friends with your customers and enjoy what you do!
So guess what this is the closest thing for me to being a Rock Star!
For me growing up in the car biz starting my career in the 90’s I looked up to and emulated people like the Cardones, Zieglers, Verdes! They were the Rock Stars of the car biz…
It’s not by accident that going on a decade and a half later… They still are household names…
Hard work ethic, a belief in what you do, and surround yourself with winners and we can all be rock stars!

Or maybe you wanted to be a brain surgeon… an astronaut... rocket scientist?
If we were all in space who would be running stuff on planet earth?
If we were all brain surgeons who would do your root canal?
If we were all rocket scientists… then who would sell cars?

Think Big!
I now have the blessed chance to help other people change their lives and enter the car biz… Everyday people from all walks of life… People who didn’t aspire to grow up and be a car salesperson either!

Doesn’t matter how they arrived here… how failed or successful they were.
The past is exactly that… what counts is what you choose to do from here on out!
The car biz embraces everyone as long as you are committed!
I inspire my students to aspire for more…

Build your business within a business… there are no boundaries in this thing!
This is a launching pad or stepping stone in whatever you choose it to be...

Think big!
Since taking my career to a new level I have networked with people I have never met...
Engaged in social media with many who I have never heard their voice…
But one day may meet or speak with…

I recently spoke to a new friend that lives clear across the country on the west coast and shared with me her frustration of not having a problem connecting with customer but closing the deal…
Her manager gave her a book to read that she carried around in her purse for a few days not thinking much of it…
I asked her which book it was she replied Selling: The Secret to Success by Grant Cardone.
It was at the moment that I laughed and said to her  “ do you know how “BIG” this thing is… Big yet Small because of the power that binds us all together: Social Media
I explained to her that our existence of how we came about networking, collaborating, was due to me reinventing myself once again and once again stepping outside my comfort zone to be a National Sales Trainer…
I went on to explain that the book she had been carrying around I owned and read several years earlier and played a big part in the inspiration of choosing to do what I do now…

I urged her to participate and join the group of Elite… those who have revolutionized the industry and have helped break down the stereotype of the cliché typical car salesman…
An industry which is now filled with men and women alike…
Everyday people who didn’t grow up to be car salespeople…

But here we are… Rockin it out… Hitting it out of the park… doing detective work… Conducting interviews… Solving crimes… listening to problems!
It is not Rocket Science… But with hard work we all make it look easy!

Just Remember… Small thinking will get you in Big Time trouble!
