Choose: 2014 Jeep Cherokee or 2014 Ford Escape!
The Fast Lane Car reviews the four most popular Crossover SUVs (2014 Jeep Cherokee, Ford Escape, Honda CR-V and RAV4). When I think of Jeep, I think of off-road. The 2014 Jeep Cherokee base model doesn't exactly resemble that. Now if you look at the Trailhawk off-road package, Jeep has really done that up right.
The 2.4L Tigershark engine in the 2014 Jeep Cherokee provides up to 490 miles of highway compared to the EcoBoos engines offered by the 2014 Ford Escape which provides up to 33 MPG on the highway.
While I do believe that the older versions of the Jeep Cherokee (the more boxier look) and the tougher Escape (2005-07) were better SUVs, these are now considered crossovers and they really do perform well as them. I do agree that they've come a long way and I'm sure there will be "better" redesigns of both of these models in the coming years. The guys at the Fast Lane Car really do a great job at review the 2014 Jeep Cherokee and the 2014 Ford Escape in comparison to the 2014 Toyota RAV4 and the 2014 Honda CR-V.
